She believes that boredom is the enemy of any progression in fitness (and in life) so she dedicates her classes to the fine art of having fun—“a workout doesn’t have to be work”—and incorporates a mix-and-match philosophy to each workout session. Because inspiration manifests in infinite ways, Amanda strives to try and teach as many types of classes as possible. She is motivated by the stories and accomplishments of her friends and students, by the rush of achieving more than she thinks she can, and by the challenge of new adventures. When she’s not dancing and moving around like a mad woman, you can find Amanda out in nature, or conversely, glued to her computer doing digital graphic and television production work…or planning the next big “thing!”
The Pole Room offers series classes to teach all levels of pole dancing to everyone, no matter your size, shape, age, even gender. If you’re serious, we’ve got a place for you at the Pole Room. I believe in providing a judgment-free space to empower women, women-identified, and men in their own form of self-expression. There are absolutely NO mistakes in pole dancing, only each individual’s interpretation of the movement. All the variations we learn are what make dancing so beautiful and so much fun!
In addition to our popular Pole Dancing classes, The Pole Room also offers a sizzling and exciting array of workshops, specialty classes, guest dancers, and retreats.
Pole Dancing is about self-awareness, self-expression, and pure confidence. The only people we aim to please are ourselves. The more you come to class, the more confidence you will gain, the more strength you will build, and the more fun you will have! A workout doesn’t have to be work!

From there she accelerated into the world of acrobatics, learning wraps and drops on the aerial silks, spins and contortions on the lyra, and became a flying trapeze instructor. In 2015, with the support of her fitness and yoga instructors, Amy received her Aerial Yoga Play certification.
Amy loves sharing the joy found in Aerial yoga and lyra with her students. She thrives on watching them learn to trust their bodies, to grow in their abilities, and let go of their fears – imparting a newfound courage beneficial in all aspects of their lives.

She can be found teaching workshops and performing original circus acts around the world, all the while enjoying the freedom of writing on the go. She spent 2 years in San Juan, Puerto Rico, employed as the new rig manager for Trapeze School New York, crafting shows for Bahia Urbana in Old San Juan, helping with the inaugural International Circus Festival in PR, and plotting ways to bring Clowns Without Borders to the island. She took some time to gallivant around Fiji and New Zealand, attempting to surf and teaching workshops to locals. There was a stint in San Francisco, meeting colorful West Oakland locals, and the direction of a full length circus show in Dallas before fleeing the country for some rest, relaxation and more workshops and performance in SE Asia and Australia. Currently she can be found in Melbourne, studying exercise science by day and moonlighting as Marilyn in her one woman comedy show at night.
As a young child, Celeste climbed everything from the ropes of her father’s boat to the kitchen fridge. Always searching for an outlet for her creative energies, she took her first Aerial Silks class right here at Body in Balance in 2016 and was hooked from her very first inversion.
Since then Celeste has gone on to become Aerial Yoga Play Certified and an ElevatED Flexibility instructor. She is finally able to embrace her restless spirit as she expresses her passion through teaching others the circus arts. Celeste finds an exceptional joy in teaching children how to harness their boundless energy into inspiring circus acts.
